Our spirits are kept in a vessel. A container of flesh. It is like a clay pot, keeping contents together as they grow. It changes over time. Some take good care of it, while others neglect it. However, it is only an outer shell. What we put in our body effects the value inside. When we are saved by Jesus, our bodies become a temple, born again for His service. He lives in us, and that makes our body of greater value. Our bodies are then a vehicle, enabling us to work for the kingdom of heaven for His glory here on earth. He created us in the likeness of Himself, so we are each a beautiful work of His hands.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; -1 Corinthians 6:19 NIV
As we grow spiritually in Christ, God will begin to form us in our born again life. As the potter of our life, he will form us, alter us and sometimes break us. We will become strengthened in our weakness, broken and repaired and become more like Him as we trust him in our lives. We will become a perfect piece of art that will become permanent eternal masterpiece. We are special!
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. -2 Corinthians 4:7 NIV
Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some from common use? -Romans 9:21 NIV
His creations (YOU) are made for a purpose. A great purpose. The world today seems to be per-occupied by outward appearance. God created you with unique physical differences, but His purpose is equal among each believer. We are to be a universal likeness of Him.
